1. Enter the course you wish to grade and select the "Gradebook" tab in the upper right corner of your screen.
If you are using integrated links, simply click on the SI Lab Portal Gradebook link in your LMS for quick access to the gradebook.
2. Select "Class Grades" from the drop down menu.
Skip this step if you are using a Gradebook link from your LMS.
3. Filter the gradebook to view the labs you wish to grade, then click Search.
For best practices and recommendations on how to filter the gradebook, review Accessing and Filtering the SI Portal Gradebook.
If grading by student, we recommend you set the rows to 50 or higher before clicking Search. The display will default to 20 sections (text or questions). However, most labs contains more. This will ensure you can see all of the questions on a single page.
4. In the "Class Grades" section, identify the student you wish to grade and select the number in the "Grade" column to go directly to the lab for grading.
5. Scroll to the first manually graded question and review the student response.
Manually graded questions can be identified by the "ungraded" label or "Manually graded" if the question has already been graded.
The Marking guide on the right side of the student's answer is the sample answer/answer guide.
6. The left side bar will contain all gradebook features. Select the "Edit" icon to open the input window.
If you plan to provide feedback to students on all questions, you can also assign the grade in the feedback tab. Skip to Step 8 to see how to access.
7. Assign the student's grade and select save.
Partial credit can be assigned to the hundredths decimal place. Note that the "ungraded" label will update to "manually graded" once you save a grade.
The Marking Guide on the right side of the student's answer is the sample answer/answer guide.
9. Add the desired feedback and select "Save."
Note that you can also modify the grade from this view.
10. Proceed to the next question to continue grading.
