Force grading is an action that automatically submits any active student attempts for an activity and pushes the resulting grades to the Gradebook.

There are a few situations where force grading may be necessary:

• Editing an activity: You cannot make changes to an activity while students still have active attempts. Force grading will submit those attempts so you can proceed with editing.
• No Submit button enabled: If your lesson doesn’t include a "Submit" button, student attempts won’t be finalized. In this case, force grading is required to ensure grades are sent to your LMS Gradebook.
