How to Use the Visual Editor

Updated on

The Visual Editor is a toolbar used in lessons, questions, hints, and other content areas to format and style what students see.

Key Features

  • Format text: bold, italics, underline, lists, alignment.
  • Insert objects: images, tables, external content, links.
  • Use math symbols and special characters (including equation editor).
  • Change display settings: full-screen editing, show HTML source, etc.

Tips for Professors

  • Hover over each icon to see what it does.
  • If content is shared or inherited, clone it before editing so your changes do not affect the original. (Visual Editor works after cloning.)

Summary

The Visual Editor gives you tools to polish lesson appearance, add media, and make sure content is readable and visually clear. Use it to make lessons cleaner, clearer, and more engaging.
