UI Changes and Improved Workflows

Updated on

We're excited to roll out a wave of updates across our platform, designed to make our interface more intuitive and address key pieces of customer feedback. These changes will go live on Weds 8/12 and will not require any action from users.

Homepage, Help Bar and Style Changes

  • Updated designs of buttons, progress bars and lists in multiple locations for easier viewing and interaction
  • Made the help bar more prominent

Old Layout

New Layout

  • The help bar at the top of all pages has been changed to be more prominent

Gradebook Changes

We've addressed multiple areas of feedback throughout the Gradebook making it easier for instructors to find the information they need, and know which assignments need their attention

  • Users can now Select/Deselect All Assignments with a single button.
  • Manual grading has also received some major upgrades.  To see the changes, let's start in the Filter Results panel.
    • This will now be collapsed as a default in order to preserve page spacing.
    • There will be two buttons for filtering.
    • Select "Manual Grading Filter"

After searching, you will see a new message in the Class Grades panel, informing you if any assignments need manual grading.  Select any of the listed assignments to begin grading.

When grading assignements you will see a few different colors at the top of your screen.

  • Gray - this question has been automatically graded
  • Green - this is manually graded question, which HAS been graded
  • Yellow - this is a manually graded question, which HAS NOT been graded

Use the bar to navigate from question to question.  Users will automatically be brought to the first question in need of manual grading.

Student Navigation

  • When students progress through sections of the lab, they'll see a new navigation bar making easier to identify their next step.
